Do You Need A Credit Card?

This ubiquitous piece of plastic can be quite misleading despite its prevalence. There are countless people who make use of credit cards on a regular basis. On the other hand, though it may be hard to believe, there are still people out there who do not have one. So which group is better off? Do you really need a credit card?

The Upside
Convenience is perhaps the best thing that comes to mind when talking about credit cards. You don’t have to bring around cash with you whenever you have the make any purchase. This is especially significant if you are talking about purchases involving large amounts of money.

Another advantage to using a credit card when making purchases is related to your consumer rights. If the item you purchase is defective or does not live up to your expectations, you may have the right to withhold your payment. Of course, this has to undergo a process and you would have to file formal a formal complaint but at least you wouldn’t have to part with any cash outright.

Cash is something that not everyone might have all the time. In emergency situations, credit cards come in very handy then. Even if you don’t have the cash to pay medical bills or some other urgent need on the spot, your credit card can cover for you.

These are only some of the good things that you can experience from using a credit card. Of course, we have to look at the other side as well – let’s do this in the next post.
