Ways to Stretch Your Income (Part 2)
In the last post, we talked about some ways you can stretch your income. We ended with the idea of surfing the Net for cheaper buys. I mentioned looking for discount coupons briefly as well. Let’s continue along these lines.
I am sure that you know all about vouchers, especially those you use for “offline” purchases. You can find vouchers from a variety of places. You can clip them from newspapers, you can get them from promo flyers, you can even buy them in bulk from stores. Yet have you actually made use of these vouchers?
I asked several people this question – colleagues, friends, even family members – and surprisingly, most of the answers I got were negative. It’s either they rarely use vouchers or they don’t use them at all. These discount coupons should be used! Else, why do they exist?
Perhaps there is this certain stigma associated with them – if you use vouchers that means you are down and out. That does not necessarily follow! Using vouchers is a means of saving money, no matter what your financial status is. And so what if you are in the red? At least you are doing something about your situation. As long as you are earning a living honestly, there is nothing to be ashamed of.
Another thing before I end, try looking for sales at your supermarkets. They always have one item or another that is on sale. If you regularly buy this item, then it makes sense to stock up on it while it’s on sale. Of course, be wary that you buy things on sale which you don’t really need.
(more to come)
